Welcome to Witch Hazel’s Place!
This site is dedicated to my journey creating a handmade life, not just in the studio, but in my home and garden as well. Along the way are the things, people and places that inspire me. This is not one of those sites with perfect pictures and wonderful scenarios. In fact, it’s a little rough. But again, it’s about the journey. It’s about the things that don’t always work, the messes I make, the plants that won’t always thrive. With this blog, I’m hoping to create a community for those of us on that journey. Please feel free to add your comments, advice, and ideas along the way!
P.S. The picture above is of one of my grandmothers (if you’re familiar with my business, you’ve probably seen it before). My grandmothers are a source of inspiration for me. They cooked, canned, gardened, and made their houses homes. They fished and hunted. They sewed, knitted, crocheted, and stitched. They built and created. A handmade life was their way of life. And, of course, they nurtured, mothered and loved.
